Pedal Order

Post by jeremyb »

Was doing some research into pedal order, my current setup is this:

GUITAR -> Compressor -> Tuner -> Wah -> Fuzz -> Delay -> Preamp -> AMP

But after watching and listening to the following video I am missing the mark somewhat, so the new setup will be:

GUITAR -> Wah -> Fuzz -> Tuner -> Compressor -> Delay -> Preamp -> AMP

I think this makes a lot more sense and am going to experiment with this over the weekend!

Guitar >> wah >> fuzz >> compressor >> tuner >> preamp (I don’t know what this is for or what it’s doing) >> delay

Tuner after anything that makes noise (except delay or reverb) ensures complete silence when you kick it on, and can be used as quite a cool effect

I would have thought fuzz first, but only really if it's germanium. Otherwise wah. Tuner doesn't matter, as long as it's before time-based effects or modulation.
Nothing to see here.

My fuzz is a germanium / silicon hybrid so buffer beforehand not a good idea as I have now been educated :lol: hopefully get some time to mess around with order today :)

I’m going to try the compressor after overdrives, but my gut feel is it will really increase the noise from drives before it. I don’t use a compressor now but will be interesting to see if it’s useful as a solo boost.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

What was really cool about this one was the loop
Selector that allows you to change the pedal order. That would be handy for all the gigs I’m not playing.
