So long as you use them for solos that when you hit the soaring high note

it's actually a note and not just CRAP

You would be one person here who would cope with that sort of thing.

I tried to pick that fast. It was like a cheese grater on my knuckles. ;)

Buckethead was probably my biggest influence once I started getting into the "shredders". I actually find his music really interesting and listenable other than having strange chops. He sorta tears the guitar to pieces and thats what I enjoy about his playing. I also nicked a lot of his wide-interval multi-tapping ideas when I was younger. http://219.88.104.106/squirmy.mp3

Big Sur Moon is the nicest piece of clean guitar ever. I don't have my Buckethead stash on hand at the moment, but Ballad of Buckethead shows off his circus chorus tone + weird tapping skills, and his taste for odd bass players (Les Claypool in that one, he also plays with Bootsy Collins).

The Internet has 2 videos of his solo stuff used as interludes to his time in GnR. One of them has his nunchuckas + robot dance at the start.

stns : "Big Sur Moon" is a great song. It's sorta his "for the love of god" or "a.w.m.a.w.y". Anything off Colma or Giant Robot are winners.

Tsuken : Yerp. Nothing wrong with a bit of shameless and disgusting self promotion. Dirrty dirrtttty! :)

I checked out Big Sur Moon, it's pretty good :P but apart from that, all the others of his songs I've heard I didn't think were that great.

The Bootsy Album is Zillatron, "Lord of the Harvest".

Came out on Bill Laswell's Black Arc Label, which I'm well impressed with.

I'm not entirely convinced that this Album is "songs"but there sure is equal amounts of silliness and serious grooves/playing.

I have to say while he can play, he is just plain weird. The Rock in Rio video is like one mish-mash of stuff, not very good I think.

For example he spends a while trying to find the right effect while on stage and actually only plays the gutiar for a tiny bit between all the robot dancing and nunchuck action....
