That is a massively influential song. I think it might be part of what made Ritchie Blackmore want to do his own thing in Rainbow etc. YJM. Iron Maiden. They all cite early Scorpions and Uli Roth of the mid 70s.

That Rick Beato fella just interviewed Peter Frampton. The tone was the Les Paul with pups wired a special way and then into an Echorec into Marshall half stacks with one Marshall feeding a Leslie. Rick tries to get him jazz geeking but Peter would not fall for it, saying some theory was there but he just winged it seeing what notes work with what basically, while trying not to sound like the millions of players trying to be Clapton clones at the time.

You can definitely hear Uli in YJM's playing, Uli was neo-classical before it was even a thing. Way before his time and quite incredible playing considering it was in the 70's (in fact it still stands up well today).

Just stumbled upon Art's 'Keep Pushing' album on Spotify. Nice combination of Freddie/BB/Albert licks chucked in a pot with licks amalgamated from Sayce, Matt Schofield et al

Some tasty runs in both of his solo's (1.45-3.20 and 5.10-6.25)I can steal and then make my own... because I can't play them properly haha. Kinda reminds me a bit of Mayer when I watch him play lead. Cool to see a woman rocking the drums too, digged her fills at the end!

People think I'm goofy, but I think paint colour changes the tone of a guitar... :mental:

I had a guy who owned a guitar store tell me the same thing in the 90's  .... I think maybe its a placebo type of thin. If "they" think it does then it does "for them". I would assume black guitars sound heavier :?:
