Re: Wellington Gearfest - June ?
Still can't play worth a shit, but damn was I tempted to turn up.
As it is,might wander down for the next Wellies meet, if it's near a decent pub.
Any good blackmail crop up at all? Embarassing secrets? Good tales of what people burble when drunk?

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Looks like some nice gear there, distinct lack of brutality tho' (apart from IB13 of course) \m/

Was nice to meet some new faces! My thoughts:
Man, nz-ninja, since last time I heard you play, your playing has improved LOTS. I don't know if your 'chops' have changed, but I can hear the tone in your fingers, you're playing smooth and tasty! also I love your PRS!
Didn't get a go on robnob's mesa, but it sounded ace. Gelato's rig is great, tasty cleans and 5004537.30 different overdrive sounds!
I can't remember his name . . . but the guy who built his own vibrolux clone and reverb unit - top work, gorgeous tone in that amp, and hands down the best reverb I have ever heard on a guitar.
Ironbird's fubar is tasty, sounds good, super comfy to play. as usual, i tried to get NON metal tones from his rig and it sounded great on lower gain stuff too.
the arsehole of the space time continuum was torn asunder by the truly mental noises being emmitted by jenesis' noise rig. I really liked the teaser stalion.
I had a go on vince's sg bass, which was fun, haven't touched a bass for months and so was pretty rusty.
and thats all i can remember right now . . .

Re: Wellington Gearfest - June ?
Damn I look extremely non-photogenic. Dammit !
Ben I loved the magicstomp the Holdsworth patches really are spectacular ! Would be incredible for the shoegaze-drone stuff I've been envisioning lately. It's instant Sigur Ros, reverb ! You gotta hassle me about the boogie next time man I thought you'd played through it by now.
Dong once again worked his boogie tweaking magic for the ultimate EQ 'Scoop of death' (Hetfield as) Lamb Of God riffage ensued.
That red Jazz bass looked very nice.
Ninja your PRS looks amazing, that top is very nice. Mine's more "look at me" and yours is classier I reckon don't sell it !
Pete your amp sounded great from what I heard of it.
That Cole Clark strat was extremely G.A.S-Inducing.
Gelato's strat with the Ibanhad neck sounded awesome too. Benderissimo's 18watter sounded great as usual and Jenesis' pedalboard of doom continues to melt faces.
IB your new mock looks mean as.
Hopefully I won't have to gig the night before the next gearfest
