Listened to the first few tracks, sounding awesome.
Along the same lines as Reflections and The Ultra Zone.
Seems to feature a bit more 7 string stuff again too.
Steve Vai's, The Story Of Light streaming.

Liking, which is good since I may well cop a slap on the wrist for streaming at work.

I've had the album for a week, and think it is one of his best and most complete albums yet. It seems to have tracks that resound from every era of his career, presented with his latest tone and techniques. Very enjoyable listen.

It started off fine, but once it got to the Broadway-sounding vocals I became increasingly aware of the taste of vomit in my mouth.

Wait ... so I can just record this for free?
That's random. Why would you do that?
There are some old keyboard parts in it ... like cheap sounding casio keyboards from 1980. And I think I heard a trans trem in there?

I guess they work on the theory that once it's been removed from there, you'll go out and buy it so you can keep listening.NZRS-Dave wrote:Wait ... so I can just record this for free?

Interesting ... I would have thought that Steve would have such a loyal fanbase that they wouldn't need to put it up like this. I could quite literally rip it to MP3 from that feed and then upload it wherever I wanted to. Or never buy the album.sopachrga wrote:I guess they work on the theory that once it's been removed from there, you'll go out and buy it so you can keep listening.NZRS-Dave wrote:Wait ... so I can just record this for free?

I can't imagine that it's going to make people rush out and buy it.
Is that Steve singing on it?
