Yes...I know that one well! It's fantastic.

Laaawdy I hope your collection is insured and kept safe and secure. What's the neck profile like on this one? comparable to any of your old SG's?

My insurance company loves me. Unfortunately. Some of these live off site too - parents, storage. I actually only have my main players at home.

Mate, you just have the most wonderful toys. Respect.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Gibson Custom AlNiCo
How have you gone about this with your insurance company? Did they ask for valuations of each instrument and if so, how did you go about that process? I can't imagine there's too many people in NZ that can accurately value vintage instruments and i'm not sure if the insurance company would take an equivalent e-bay auction or similar as a price guide for one not to mention discrepancies in value due to the instruments condition.I've got mine under a 'blanket' insurance for the whole collection but not as individual pieces which is something i'd like to change. Any tips?*UNIQUE* wrote:My insurance company loves me. Unfortunately. Some of these live off site too - parents, storage. I actually only have my main players at home.

Will detail further tomorrow but yes, itemised, photos, serials, value. And agreement that it's for replacement for same age instrument. Not a new replacement. They don't like it but I said I'd go elsewhere otherwise. AMI.

They repeatedly said I didn't need to name any guitars on the policy, but now I have 8 of the buggers I'm feeling a bit nervous.

Name them. I've had a few bits stolen and had no issues, but man, if it all went at once? Would be like squeezing water from a stone.

Yeah, when I get them all back from being set up etc I think I'll take serial number photos and give them a call again.bbrunskill wrote:Name them. I've had a few bits stolen and had no issues, but man, if it all went at once? Would be like squeezing water from a stone.

Re: Gibson Custom AlNiCo
Name them, take photo's of them, list current replacement and estimate the future value. Get them to agree that you are wanting proper replacement - as in, if it is a vintage piece, you want a vintage replacement.
