Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Piece of Mind was the high point for me. I lost interest after that until a few years ago with the release of A matter of life and death. After Piece of mind I started listening to bands like Queensriche and Fates Warning.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Stunning show in CHCH last night, anyone still on the fence about Auckland would be well advised just to grab a ticket and get down there.
I won't post too much on here to spoil anything, and there's photos on my Facebook page.
Some interesting things for me on the guitar front:
Biggest Shock was Janick opening up the show with what looked like a Black Gibson Les Paul, in mint condition not munted like his Strats. Then played the rest of the night with a combination of old strats as usual.
Dave played a variety of mostly strats with the odd Les Paul thrown in.
Adrian spent most of the evening playing his two signature Jacksons.
However the best moment of the whole night was Adrian finishing off the night playing the bright red Ibanez Destroyer for the last two songs, it looked so right. I'm assuming it was a new guitar not the 1980s original, shiny red (candy Apple?). Haven't seen any photos of it yet but will keep an eye open.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
It's an epiphone Janick is playing. And it's a Jackson version of the destroyer.
Was great. I got first to the barrier for it and have got it for Auckland too...hope my body can handle it

I was wondering if it might be s Jackson. Took a guess at Ibanex from shape of headstock but didn't get clear view.
Must have been ace on the barrier

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Are you talking about the album Piece of Mind or just that song? The solos are brilliant on that track, and PoM is a stunning album IMO (my second favorite behind Powerslave).Molly wrote:The band that wrote: "Die With Your Boots On". Possibly the worst, most cringe-inducing record of all time. Oh, and the close second: "Holy Smoke".
Yeah, I might go anyway.... LOL.
I haven't delved into their new album much, so I'm hoping they do some of the old classics. Can't wait to hear and see Murray live.
