This one probably more accurately shows the colour difference. Still on a dark stage no one would know.

Mate, they look well matched. I was initially impressed by how you managed to find matching tolex and its only your going on about it that has made me look closer and I still can't really tell the difference.Reg18 wrote:This one probably more accurately shows the colour difference. Thats a really tidy looking job. Wish I had those kinda skills! Nice one!

Re: 2x12 build/NAD
I might suggest using a hair dryer or heat gun over your grill cloth to tighten it up.

The really good vid I think CDog sent me the guy lightly moistened the cloth before stapling it to the baffle, then as it dried it tightened upReg18 wrote:Thanks for the tip, I imagine on low though?SimpleSi wrote:I might suggest using a hair dryer or heat gun over your grill cloth to tighten it up.

Could you refrain from using the word "moistened" on my thread, I'm surprised admin haven't given you a hand slap already!jeremyb wrote:The really good vid I think CDog sent me the guy lightly moistened the cloth before stapling it to the baffle, then as it dried it tightened upReg18 wrote:Thanks for the tip, I imagine on low though?SimpleSi wrote:I might suggest using a hair dryer or heat gun over your grill cloth to tighten it up.
But good advise none the less.

Very much honeymoon period, but I can't seem to find a bad setting in this amp yet! Had it running on the 15watt setting with the MV engaged (goes against most people's advise online) and it was still sounding great!

Re: 2x12 build/NAD
An unusual pairing, especially with a Vox! But I actually quite like it which I wasn't expecting.
I was hoping to get a G12H30 to go with the Fane but budget dictated unfortunately. Still hoping to get one at some stage as it is one of my favourite speakers but this is working pretty well so far.

Re: 2x12 build/NAD
could experiment with a thinner front face. I`m posting this from the bottom of page one so apologies if its been mentioned
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Re: 2x12 build/NAD
Yeah it's not to bad actually I've never tried one before. (Pretty much only ever used Celestions)bender wrote:I have a C12Q in one of my amps (the Ampegish flavoured one) and it's great.
I think both of my speakers are traditionally used in more clean Fender type circuits but they actually work pretty well together for my Vox. The Fane is apparently 101db so I thought it would drown out the Jensen but they sound about the same to me from about a metre away.

Re: 2x12 build/NAD
Got some new speakers coming for my cab so while it is empty decided to do some remodelling on it!
Reduced It from 350 deep to 300 which seemed a better fit for the Vox head and changed the front surround while I was there (mainly for aesthetic reasons) Looking forward to loading a G12H30 and Alnico Blue into this in the near future!
It ain't perfect, don't look too closely but it does the job just fine!
