Mollys Friedman has got the same amount of gain as my jcm-800 modded by Ryan with an extra gain stage!!! It has got a truckload of gain!!!willow13 wrote:and with shit loads more gain it would make you weep...a joyful weepAiRdAd wrote:I think the strat would really shine when you're using more gain
I wonder how the BE-100 differs from his one? Surely it can't have that much more gain!!! hahahahaha

Re: Comparing Bridge Humbuckers
The one YT demo I watched said it was based on the BE but more vintage voiced (In the opinion of the reviewer). With the Plexi channel too that's all a chap could want.AiRdAd wrote:Mollys Friedman has got the same amount of gain as my jcm-800 modded by Ryan with an extra gain stage!!! Re: Comparing Bridge Humbuckers
Haven't played a Smallbox. Tried a BE100 a few years ago, compared to the usual Marshalls, the top end was quite smoothed out, the mid peak was shifted and more nasal sounding.
The general consensus is that the Smallbox is a bit more raw/vintage than the BE.

Re: Comparing Bridge Humbuckers
Decided the pair of aged Mules are going in the 335 and the Riff Raff is going in the bridge of the LP (swapping covers so it looks the same). Can't escape the feeling that the bridge Shaw is just a bit under-powered.

Re: Comparing Bridge Humbuckers
Fitted the Mules last night. Not sure I got exactly the same amp setting but included another video just the same.
Thinking it'd be much more useful if I could crank the amp up. Suspect the quieter it gets the less the nuances come through. Recording on my phone doesn't help either, eh....

... ok a quick tutorial by BG on embedding a youtube video...
copy the url up to anything that says & in this case its &utm_source, everything else sucks donkeys cocks.
so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEiJsFYzG5M
you can now use that in the youtube tag. so its basically the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEiJsFYzG5M we want.
oh look it works. Click on the youtube tag thing and insert the link in it.
If you think it isn't going to work, you can preview it without posting.
