Gibson discontinuing Reissue series?
Talk is that Gibson may stop making reissues.
Perhaps they want more resources to devote to all those great new designs of theirs.
With Gibson you never know for certain that they won't do it.

Interesting read. Given the up-charge on these I can't imagine the Custom Shop not putting out more reissues. Maybe as the thread suggests they're waiting for some inventory to clear, have noticed a lot of 2016 Les Paul's passing through Dave's Guitars.

They've put out some absolute clangers in the USA Production LPs recently and also some in the Custom Shop also(2012 and 15).
This move will hopefully clear up the mountain of Historics that have been produced in recent years.

Doin' that scrapyard thing.

I get the feeling they just want to clear some inventory out there with the dealers, based on a very limited understanding of the market. And yes there has been a few "what were they thinking?" moments. esp with the 2015 models.

That hasn't been hit by the ugly stick, is is the ugly stick...

Shop Manager - "what the fack is that?"...Marketing..."I dunno, but stick Joe Bonamassa's name on it and some middle aged, pentatonic murdering, action gusset shirt wearing, recently single white man will buy it."
"What price?",
'I dunno, 7, 8, 9, 10?"

What's an "action gusset shirt"? I feel I should know already as I fit the bill as middle aged and pentatonic murdering (both major and minor I might add).

Actually, I'm not sure the guy in that description could afford it after buying his new Harley.
