If you're dealing with poly even the toxic stuff will have little if any effect.philly wrote:what sort of stripper do you use and how many passes ?
i'm stripping a bass at the moment and I got some water based stripper (environment and all that...)
but I applied some last night....scraped it off this morning and hasn't made a blind bit of difference
if anything it's shinier!!
might as well have used natural yoghurt

Yummy. See the Fiesta right at the bottom of the heap! It might even be on top of a Sunburst.

Heat gun for poly is good. Anything sanding oriented should be avoid unless you're not concerned about changing rounded profiles etc.

heat gun and scraper. If you're lucky, it'll chip off nice and easy or even in one piece sometimes.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

This guitar has had many lives! It would be kinda cool to leave the neck pocket alone to tell the story but the Tone God would retch at the very thought.GrantB wrote:Yummy. See the Fiesta right at the bottom of the heap! It might even be on top of a Sunburst.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

The Tone God spoke...he said "be gone with it"

Could have looked like this....
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

I assume the neck and hardware will be quite worn. Will you put any wear marks etc on the body?

Re: Something is brewing -63 Strat
Look at those brown cases in the background....hmmmm
I dont think so re the Strat - it's pretty clean. I reckon the owner way back just went, "feck it, natural is the new and funky thing...do it Zettwitz!"

So I will do "some" relic work...but not a lot.
