NGD: Bg's 1995 Gibson Les Paul Premium Plus
Well after a lifetime of playing Strats & LP Copies, the stars somehow managed to align and I was able to get my hands on this.
Arrived last week and got a chance to put it's paces with both a good valve amp and my Katana 100w 212 yesterday. Sounds great, thick and full with a touch more treble needed than when I'm playing the Strats.
Gave the pickups a very light polish with Brasso and restrung with some D'Addario .010's. Thanks Bg, this one is a keeper for sure

I hope that the D'addario's don't have the coloured ball ends - Bg will turn in his grave
Anyway - congrats!

Was a very light polish, and probably the last one they get. Any wear, grime that goes on them from now is my doingBg wrote:H671 wrote:Saying nothing... or about polishing antiquities either.

Yeah probably. Might bring it along with my relic'd Strat and my Jet City Vintage 20w head - would love to hear that thing cranked. It sings even at lower volumes.Reg18 wrote:Nice LP Jim, you bringing it to Gearfest?

There are two things I don't like about that guitar.
1) The tails left on the strings ready to prick your fingers as you re-tune.
2) Its not hanging on my wall now.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
