Wrong bigsby
So neck is glued on, all strung up (guitar that is) and so far happy but.... the B3 bigsby I bought is too short . The handle does not go past the bridge pickup, only about 2/3 of the way. On my 6120 it goes well past the bridge pup.
So looks like I should have bought a B6. Anyone confirm? Anyone having a spare B6 around for me to try?

What's the guitar? From my limited knowledge, B7 fits Les Pauls and similar sized Gats,B6 and B3 is for Gretchs and B5s for flat tops like SGs and Teles.

sorry mate, I have a B7 I can measure up for you? Or you're welcome to try it for the price of a packet of elexir strings (new on the guitar a week ago)
Its not enough that we succeed, we still need others to fail

Gretsch 6128 copy, but B3 aint doing it...Reg18 wrote:What's the guitar? From my limited knowledge, B7 fits Les Pauls and similar sized Gats,B6 and B3 is for Gretchs and B5s for flat tops like SGs and Teles.
Thanks Bg. Got the B7 specs from the web. Looks like it may work but it has the extra bar on it and needs a screw. I'll keep your offer in mind but hope there is a B6 instead of a Bg out thereBg wrote:sorry mate, I have a B7 I can measure up for you? No, I agree. That takes ugly to a new level.StrummersOfThunder wrote:Ahh you fussy old Dutchman ! A caliper is a caliper is a caliperjvpp wrote:Thanks but... Did you see how ugly it is? Can't have that on my evil orange gretsch copy And the background is even worse!

B3 is the wrong one- it's the short one for guitars like a Duo Jet that don't require a tension bar. B6 is what you need, and if that's not long enough, you can get longer arms for them too.

backing me up. It is such a relief to know I m not fussy... Would a longer arm work for the B3 or just bite the bullet and buy an B6 and keep this for a future Duo Jet copy?

Re: Wrong bigsby
I think you need the B6. You could even get a Gretsch branded one for a bit of irony.

You mean a quality gretsch branded one or a chinese one? Any links?bender wrote:I think you need the B6. You could even get a Gretsch branded one for a bit of irony.
I'll do a Hamish on you - double negate, so you say it is uglyStrummersOfThunder wrote:I didn't say it wasn't ugly
