I could Google I guess, but what does the C6 mod do?Single coil wrote:Sd1. C6 mod optional.
As for actual drive pedals, the two button wampler pinnacle was really cool.
What's your favourite overdrive pedal, and why?

Years ago I lent my Boss Turbo overdrive (OD2) to a workmate and never got it back. So definitely that one!
I want all the pedals!

Dicks with the eq somehow. Becomes more of an overdrive than a booster, but still functions well as a booster.chur wrote:Single coil wrote:I could Google I guess, but what does the C6 mod do?
It's quite a cool sound I think, but it's not for everyone.

Hotcake for just about anything. It's a great clean booster to low-gain overdrive and it's super cool as a big dark fuzzy wall of sound.
But sometimes you want an overdrive that has more of a Tubescreamer push to the midrange, and in that case I freaking love the G2D Classic.

Dano Fab Distortion, with the drive set to zero as a clean boost, then to use pick attack to push into overdrive.

LMAO - just read the blurb on the box of a Joyo Vintage Overdrive that states .. "The representation of the classic tube screamer with JRC4588 chip. The overdrive effect is mellow, mild, smooth and exquisite. And the sustain is quite good".
Lets see about that

I use MI Audio Tube Zone.
As low gain as you want it to be a boost or as high gain to chunk it out.
Quite versatile but sort of falls into the category of I need more than one so I can set and forget.

I'd quite like to try a King of Tone. I like the demos.
Had to laugh, I was comparing ODs last night and ended up on my trusty modded TS-9, but was still unsatisfied with the sound.
Then I looked at this thread, and saw I commented last year that the TS9 is my favourite, but feels like it's only there till I find the one I really want.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Bit of evolution for me:
Archer Gold is still almost always on.
Hermida Zen Drive for single coils and Timmy for humbuckers.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Probably my Black Obsidian. Stupidly sold it once which I regretted instantly, then the guy I sold it to emailed me a few weeks later asking if I wanted it back. Phew.
I have no idea what's going on internally as when you take the back of it... let's just say it's not the tidiest built pedal. But holy mackerel it has a sound to it, anything from a nice clean boost through to a Plexi type sound. Doesn't really change the original tone which I like, plus it has a low/high gain switch to wake your granny up. Killer

I finally visited the Crowther website tonight. I didn't realise there's another version of it too, the Bluesberry one. Have you tried that one?bbrunskill wrote:Hotcake for just about anything. It's a great clean booster to low-gain overdrive and it's super cool as a big dark fuzzy wall of sound.
