Looks like I'm wrong if the original pickups are in the case! Would be cool to see what these CS pickups look like, and if they are dated. They must have used beveled pole pieces for the earlier CS pickups. Good to know.StrummersOfThunder wrote:[
I have the original pickups in the case and the guy bought CS pickups and had them installed. But I'll bow to your knowledge there as I've never had CS pickups before. I'll take the guard off tonight and have a poke around
Thanks for the info

Very nice... Did the exhange happen while both of you were wearing longcoates and sunglasses?
Anyways, no need to go to Japan now...

Re: NGD 2000 Fender 'yamano' AV 62 JM IMB
Spent a little time on set up last night. Lubed the truss nut and trem spring. Was able to adjust the truss and shim such that I could raise the bridge considerably , gaining better brake angle. The frets are brand new essentially and who ever replaced them has done an excellent level and dress. The guitar plays smoothly and true and the nearly 20yr old avri trem works like a dream.
I've gone ahead and ordered a master bridge because of the massive difference the one I put on my vintage Jag made in terms of stability and tone. Happy days.

From what I understand Yamano in the past have sent their representatives to various US manufacturers and have hand chosen the guitars they want. I have an LP with Yamano swing tags from 95.

That's better!

The whitish pickguard is way nicer IMO. The whole thing looks brand new!

Well.
New pickguard
After market custom shop pickups
New frets
Mastery bridge
...it's not far off being a new guitar
