NAD: Fender Super Champ X2
I've had it for a week but only just had a chance to check it out the last couple of nights. Nice little amp, equipped with Celestion Gold, and easy to get nice sounds out of it. I haven't really checked out all the options but voice 12 is my favourite so far. Haven't checked out what that option is modeled on. Haven't plugged it into the PC yet either.
One niggle so far... it sounds great with humbuckers and my strat (SSL-1 and SSL-5) but a bit pants with my Pacifica equipped with Andy Timmons pickups set I bought it as a simple grab'n'go amp. It's great for that as long as I don't grab my Pacifica along with it Not sure what to do about that.

But of course! D'oh! I'll get on to that right away...
In the meantime, it sounds just great through the Laney

Re: NAD: Fender Super Champ X2
Maybe try changing the pickup height? What is it about it you don't like?

The neck pickup sounded dull for some reason, will try adjusting pickup height next.jeremyb wrote:Maybe try changing the pickup height? What is it about it you don't like?

Completely forgot this has a 10" speaker... never had one before! I had to max out the bass and now it sounds fantastic. I assume speaker size affects bass response.

Yes, speaker size and the fact that it is a small cab.codedog wrote:Completely forgot this has a 10" speaker... never had one before! I had to max out the bass and now it sounds fantastic. I assume speaker size affects bass response.

I find with combos it always helps to lean them back so the speaker is pointing more towards the player, usually takes the proverbial blanket off them!

This is sitting on top of another amp, which is on top of a wee shelf. When I'm sitting down it's either pointing at my face or my left ear.

Re: NAD: Fender Super Champ X2
Putting things on top of other things usually results in bass being pretty neutered.
