Cedarmaster
I spent a little time today making a 12 mm MDF template;
A while back I also made a body blank out of some dressed cedar so I figured...... Now that the mahogany Tele is nowhere near finished I figured it's time to start another project! Anyone got a jazzmaster pickguard they want to sell?1935 Martin D-45, 1942 Gibson Southern Jumbo,1950 Fender Broadcaster, 1954 Fender Strat, 1958 Gibson Moderne prototype, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Re: Cedarmaster
Been doing some sanding. Some of the grain on this cedar is lovely.
Unfortunately the body is 4 pieces so it'll end up a solid colour. Here it is with a neck;1935 Martin D-45, 1942 Gibson Southern Jumbo,1950 Fender Broadcaster, 1954 Fender Strat, 1958 Gibson Moderne prototype, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Re: Cedarmaster
Due to the nature of my job, I have a bad habbit of looking at materials from work and thinking, 'that'll make a nice guitar'. Then I buy one or two more bits and it gets added to the project pile. It's a disease, could be worse etc...Bg wrote:meh make a feature of the joins! Thats looking good - can't wait to see it added to the pile of unfinished projects!

Re: Cedarmaster
I know, I have several projects still in pieces.
Currently include -
Ibanez RG, only fitting a floyd too it. Got bummed out with routing error.
Parker look a-likey from Korina - its carved but at the time I thought it needed a hex pickup. So I need to fill that bit in and finish sanding etc.
SX Tele body, sprayed with black nitro and currently hanging around with my big pile of tools. It won't look authentic, it'll just look like its been hanging around with spanners for a year.
Korina bodied Strat. Korina is quite soft, the posts for the two bridge trem broke through. This will end up being a hard tail. Probably.
Hohner steinberger look a like. another with a built in hex pickup. Too be fair, both of these hex pickup annoyances were before the tripleplay.
I think thats the lot at the moment....

Re: Cedarmaster
I'd really like to try a Cedar body electric. For some reason I think it'd go great with a pair of Lollar low wind Imperials or maybe Filtertrons.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Cedarmaster
Always had soft spot for cedar, I have an old short scale acoustic with a cedar top and always wondered what an electric would sound like.
