Very nice. Smelliness aside, it looks to be in pretty good condition overall.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. Structurally it's great but it does look like it's been through the digestive tract of a large carnivore

I bought my '76 from a shop and decided I would clean , set up and restring once and once only

Weighed this bass today. 8.8lb / 4kg . Puts it on the lighter end of the range as far as I can tell which is good news.

Well I think I have successfully de-stinkafied the case. Wiping the outside with detergent and water lifted a thick black coating..... Ewwww
Took a light wash with a damp cloth, three days of airing out in the open air. 24 hrs with baking soda and left in a hot room then vacummed thoroughly followed by a spray with foaming pet smell remover carpet cleaner. A light wash to remove any surface chemicals left behind them another 24 hrs open to air to dry it all out. I gave the bass a wash too with a damp cloth and a tiny bit of detergent and deodorizer in it. Worked a treat.
