Bass flats for life.Bg wrote:flats on my es339 next string change, got to try them on guitar next!
Haven't quite been able to commit to flats on a guitar, but I'm using half-rounds on my Duesenberg- I absolutely love them.
Nowhere in NZ seem to stock them though- so I bought 10 packs through Strings and Beyond.
(edit: I see guitarstuff have some, but not the gauge I like)

So as the rain has stopped, I took the old girl outside and laid her on the table on the deck.... but enough of my sex life (badoom tish)
The neck pickup is actually a standard sized single coil in that huge housing! Though it is 10.5 K. Bridge is a humbucker. With the flats I have all the tone I ever need, from thump through to P-Bass like punch. Still want a P-Bass though. Probably going to make one

My aria is a single coil in the job housing too. Apparently it was common practice back then.
That’s a seriously cool top.

yeah they're supposed to be like the gibson mudbucker... but not a faithful copy As in the mudbucker is a humbucker!
As with all things hollow/semi hollow, its good to get a nice bit of figured plywood

There is no sort of aberrant behaviour that cannot be modified by use of the correct ammunition!

yep there isn't much info on the 5520, and even less about the eb-375 which I'm presuming was the original designation which change to the 5520.
