Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Happy with mine. Need to spend some time tweaking my presets when I get the chance.

I'm back on the bus again too. Sounds amazing for bass, last session I just used the IncuBass preset with a fuzz pedal, really happy with the tone. Jason Sadites on YooToob has some great tutorials on setting up patches (chains, where to put eq, how to get sag etc) that bring out the more realistic 'in the room' tone (especially when compared to the stock guitar patches) - well worth checking out.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
I'm thinking about getting one of these for live use, would be easy for changing between high gain tones and clean tones as currently my 5150 isn't good for that. Plus it's heavy af to carry around to every practice/gig hahaha. Does anyone here use their Helix live? And can advise me how to use it with a cabinet and which power amp they use/how it's set up? Thanks very much in advance, you legends!

Did you ever go back to try the Powercab again or was it just a bit meh?null_pointer wrote:I'm back on the bus again too. Wasn’t enough of a change to warrant spending $1499 when I already have L2t and L3ms

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Im loving mine...mainly using the speaker emulation at the moment. I might use the FRFR function for some stuff but being able to swap the speaker in a cab on demand is pretty cool. I was comfortable with the L3M as an frfr but the Power cab is definitely more like having an amp - taking the mic and monitoring out of the chain does seem to make it feel more immediate.StratMatt wrote:

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Anyone else tried this: https://thefriendlygearfreaks.com/threa ... amps.5717/
You can download presets or just copy the settings - basically its a parametric EQ curve which mimics a cab but not a mic.
Sounds pretty good! A bit boxy but could probably tweak the EQ to fix that.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Rolled the Helix out for the first gig on bass last night... performed flawlessly. Went direct to board from the XLR out using inbuilt 8x10 cab sim.

Interested. Kill off my M9 and M13...and have amp backup or DI options.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
I bet it sounds great, I am concerned that it doesn't have the intuitive "just adjust on the fly" factor of the M9 or M13. As soon as you start simplifying the interface with less dedicated buttons, it makes it more complex to use and tweak under pressure.GrantB wrote:https://line6.com/hx-stomp/

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Very tempted to put on the end of my board as a practice/recording/direct option... Wouldn't want to use it as an all in one unless you had a midi controller for it, but as just an amp on the end of your board...

Me too. I need to have a go with one. Waiting for the RS to get stock. Price is the same as the larger one...which seems strange.Terexgeek wrote:I bet it sounds great, I am concerned that it doesn't have the intuitive "just adjust on the fly" factor of the M9 or M13. Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Yes, I saw this and am interested too. I was hoping to get one before I headed back from the USA on my last trip (last week), but they were not available yet. There is a current Helix effects only unit which is bigger, supports longer effects chains and is probably easier to use live, but it does not do amps (though it does IRs). Hopefully, I'll be headed back there soon.GrantB wrote:https://line6.com/hx-stomp/

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
100% keen on getting this. All about the tiny form factor as of late (hence the GE200) and I've always felt more comfortable with M series of effects. Never went onto Helix as again, form factor was priority #1 from then on in and tbh the axe fx 2 user interface turned me off digital stuff for a long, long time
