Tube rattle
Haven’t looked into this much yet, but was wondering if there’s any easy fixes? Not sure if it’s preamp or power tubes, happening from the moment there’s sound so it’s likely not a temperature thing.
Head is secure on the cab and all the tubes appear to be locked in tight

Take the head off the cab.

Re: Tube rattle
tap each valve with a chopstick (while turned on obviously), that will tell you if a valve is at fault.

Re: Tube rattle
So guessing the culprit(s) will sound different to the others? It’s a brand new amp and they’re all brand new tubes btw.Bg wrote:tap each valve with a chopstick (while turned on obviously), that will tell you if a valve is at fault.

Re: Tube rattle
in theory it should rattle when you tap it... if you don't get a rattle on any of them, its time to look elsewhere. Even new valves can be bad.

Re: Tube rattle
The rattle could be coming from elsewhere, pays to stick your ear up against the back of the head and then the cab and work around from there, could be something as simple as a loose bolt or screw.

Cheers for the useful responses. Problem solved but it was actually me being a bit of a numbnut...
The Marshall was fine, the tube rattle was actually coming from the Ceriatone underneath it. Duh!

Re: Tube rattle
only laughing cause I've had similar problems before, strangely the Katana and THR are completely tube rattle free, might just be something the modellers and the like can improve on perhaps???

Absolutely love it, simply can’t fault it. And the boost channel is good enough that I don’t even need an OD pedalAquila Rossa wrote:How is the Origin working out for you? Money well spent?
