Thanks Bob, great advice, I now have to do all the fret board as it turned out to be mahogany and split and chipped like a bastard when i pulled the frets, so no matching now :cry: BTW, whats the box depth, I have a straight Stella parlor neck, the guitar was buggered when it got here, 24 1/2 scale,...

Well I live in Onehunga and visit Royal Oak Mall once a fortnight (great mexican food place if they last) and have never seen a music shop there, but I'll check this week and let you know :lol: If there is one its very new, (probably an office me thinks) I or my family have been in or around Onehung...

Nope, the Vox DA5 kills the Roland, and if you want a good practice amp, this or the 15 watt or 30 watt Vox ADT series are great value, no good for gigging (well maybe ) but excellent for figuring out what sounds you are after, and in the meantime suffice for a few years of practicing. Go with a goo...

I had Zettwitz do a neck reset last year, very nice job, and Ash did some rewiring for me, and Glyn has just done a 1960s pickup rewind for me. All were great, setups I do myself as they are personal. Ash is a top bloke and can't fault his work, Glyn is also a bloody nice guy, and did a fabulous job...

Given that the set up on the cheapie is OK I can't see the difference too much, if it plays nice on the neck then the amp plus pups will be the pivotal point, lots of cheapies I have owned over the years when I put decent pups in and with a decent amp are damn fine. :D :D Its all personal, the gats ...
