Re: Best DAW for beginner
reaper, hands down Reaper is cool if you want a free (or cheap) DAW that has plenty of tutorials out there and supports everything and anything... This cannot be overstated. There is a huge amount of community support for Reaper, so it's a great one for a noobie. That being said, Reaper users seem ...

Re: Offset chat
Fuck I hate video content that could have been 2 short paragraphs with some photos.
FYI, the vibrato unit on those Sire Larry Carlton offsets is by Goldo, and is showing up on a lot of high end boutique guitars. I have one on my Walsh and it's excellent.

Re: Eastman D'Ambrosio Series
After all my posts on the offset thread, I actually played mule's JM (ex-Bender?) and didn't get on with that body shape. This Eastman one looks interesting and somewhat promising though! Will have to find out if Musicworks is going to bring some in. What JM is that one ? MIM lacquer one... surf gr...

Re: Survey: How many effects pedals do you own?
For a long time I had one board and about 5 pedals total, but decided I needed to have a dedicated gigging board (fairly minimal) and a pissing around at home board (a little more going on, plus a looper). Thats pushed me up over 11.

Re: Rhodes piano pre-amp (pedal builders??)
I saw one of these in cash converters here about 3 years ago and was sorely tempted (I dont play keys and havent a clue), but it was such a cool looking thing. Reminded me of that scene in The Blues Brothers with Ray Charles.... I thought you just plugged them into a guitar amp ? I love that scene ...

Re: Synth Chat
Cool. There's one on TM at the moment I have a sneaky eye on. I'm trying to get my head around syncing and how that would work between the brute and beats. Seems like midi is the way rather than cv. Do you run the beats through the synth filters etc, or run them dry to your output? Did you end up b...

Nice. I'm seeing a Drumbrute Impact in my future. Oh man, it's a whole heap of fun. The Random knob is brilliant. Cool. There's one on TM at the moment I have a sneaky eye on. Solder. We have the punch-in tools at work, but I decided to try the masochistic way.

Re: What's on your work bench?
I made a couple of DB25 patchbays today. 1 DB25 to 1/4” balanced, and one DB25 to 1/8” unbalanced. Fuck me, Jaycar jacks suck balls.

Re: Synth Chat
Considering what it can do, most of the parameters are right in front of you with the Hydra. I've got a desktop as well, which I leaned towards for the cv inputs and having all eight knobs on the face. I do think that the explorer might have been a better option for the polyphonic after-touch keybo...

Re: Synth Chat
I'm going to be expanding the modular over time too. The one thing I'm not sure about at the moment is the Hydrasynth. It sounds brilliant, but is a little bit too menu-divey for me.
