Re: Amp Recommendations.....again

Well I managed to score a nearly unused Vox Tonelab for $250 a couple of days ago. Not too much over your budget if another pops up on Trademe, or maybe you can haggle the price down.

Re: Gilmour Goodness

Gilmour cultivating the Jesus look rather successfully back in the day... http://rr.foto.radikal.ru/0709/76/982d28d99cd4.jpg Wow that confirms what I've suspected all this time.... Just bought the Gilmour double DVD. I thought PF were a little stagnant after Waters left and on Pulse, but this one i...

Re: YouTube goodness

Here's more Springsteen goodness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2rQ3_kSXoU - some nice lyrics there that I tell people at parties when I'm drunk "When I die I don't want no part of heaven I'd not do heaven's work well I pray the devil comes and takes me to stand In the firey furnaces of hell&q...

Some tips from Mr Glyn http://mrglyn.blog.com/ - maybe take the neck off and bring it on as hand luggage if you decide on a strat? I'd hate too see a big dent on my lake placid blue beauty :o

I'm loving my Vox847, bought on TM around the 120 mark I think. It has that classic talking sound, works great for Hendrix/Cream and could probably pull off a decent Sweet Child of Mine solo too. The bypass mod isn't hard to do but factor in another $20 for a dpdt stomp switch - plus soldering, time...

After some opinions on these amps.....

Talofa chaps, Just wondering if any of you have had experience playing the following amps; I’ve been eyeing up this baby http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=131920382 – a Peavey Classic 20 upgraded with Weber speaker – just wondering about the 10” speaker and if 15watts would be ...

Nice work mate, I remember seeing someone do that a few rows away from me.

It's a pity that the music itself is not the biggest drawing card to a lot of people, witness the BDO fightpits in recent years......or maybe I'm just an old bastard now at 21 years. Come to think of it, this sort of behaviour occurs irrespective of age/socio-economic groups etc. I saw Bob Dylan 3 t...

Cheers BG :D you've saved me from butchering my Les Paul-to be further down the line

Incidentally, the pickup had a flipped magnet, apparently done in error, not reverse wired. I've heard a million different versions of how Greeny's Les Paul sounds like it does, but according to Geoff Whitehorn of Guitar Techniques Magazine March '02 "Peter's 'out of phase' sound came about by...

Nice taste, last 3 guys :D Peter Green YES!!! His guitar playing is only matched by his vocals. Gary Moore learned everything he knows from Greeny, as well as inheriting his Les Paul (the one with the reverse wired neck pup) - "The Supernatural" circa 1967? (from "A Hard Road" by...
