Also,

Tape vs Computer recording

DISCLAIMER: I'm a complete newb hobbyist at recording and don't know all the swandangle fancy terms etc. For about 2 years now I've been mucking around with a four-track recording a few of lo-fi songs and also some jamming tracks etc. But as I'm improving and learning with what I'm doing, I'm also f...

Re: Buying a cheap amp

Or you could get one of these: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Music-instruments/Instruments/Guitar-bass/Guitar-amps/auction-150611995.htm?p=1 Similar to the Cube, by my understanding. Good little practice amp with effects and lots of different tones so you can find what suits you before moving up to a big...

Re: Got the Back in the 'rei With No Jam, No Band Blues

I have to laugh when people refer to Whangarei as "the rei". It really makes it sound like a hip place. Either I'm missing something or "rei" means "shithole that is fast becoming overrun by wannabe gangsta fuckwits". Yeah, I don't actually call it that in everyday spe...

Got the Back in the 'rei With No Jam, No Band Blues

LOCATION = Whangarei/Northland WANTED = Good natured musos with an appreciation of blues/roots music who are primarily interested in having fun. After taking a couple of years of playing my guitar I've "past participle of get" right back into it and playing every night. But after a while i...

Re: Tungsten Cortez

I'm not looking at buying one (not yet anyway) - was just curious about them because I found out that a guitarist I really enjoy and saw live last year uses these amps - I love his tone. So was just asking out of curiousity if anyone had tried one out. I know he also used Victoria amps at some point...
