Thanks for all your advice I went into town and had look round and ended up walking out with a Line 6 Spyder III 15 for $300, it seems pretty good and blew all the other amps i was looking at in the shops out of the water :P Im gonna have to play around a bit with the presets to get how i like, any1...

Atm i am seriously leaning toward the Roland Mini-cube, tis a bit above my budget but it seems so good i might make the sqeeze

I can see that this is a high quality amp but i like to think i will be playing something that requires disort so want an amp with a built in distortion preferably.

While i see where you are coming from the Epiphone seems very small and unajustable, but maybe thats just also as i said i would prefer something over the counter, as far as something from a bricks-and-mortar goes what would you recommend?
