Re: Making an insurance claim
Cheers everyone, I won't be going in there. As far as I know the roof is still on, but its a real danger zone. Plus, the cordons are pretty impenetrable. The last I heard they'll be pulling it down fairly soon so I'm not holding my breath on getting in there. The amps in question are just old NZ mad...

Making an insurance claim
Hey all, As you may have heard the Media Club, recent venue of Christchurch Gearfests, has succumbed rather spectacularly in the ol' quake of twennyleven. Actually not that bummed out about it - it's just a building. However, pretty much every piece of guitar kit I own is in there and inaccessible. ...

In fact, right next door to Centennial Pool. You can't miss it, it's got a wall with bracing that sticks out into Armagh Street.Cdog wrote:think armagh st near the centennial poolz

Re: Hot Cake Thread
I've had 2 hot cakes - a modernish one with presence knob (no bass or bluesberry options) and a switch presence one and sold them both when I got a mk1 cusack screamer. Never thought I'd champion the Cusack Screamer (or any tube screamer/clone) over the hotcake, but, what can I say? The grit and not...

Re: Fender Jaguar
I was in a band where I played a Japanese reissue Jag and the other guy played a Japanese reissue Jazz (we were really into My Bloody Valentine). This was circa '95. I always felt my guitar was a bit too bright, but the jazz sounded amazing! Now I play a tele - go figure! Just my two cents, for what...

Re: What's my Jansen worth?
Thanks everyone and cheers nzsimon1 I was actually thinking the same amount... purely based on what it's worth to me and what I could possibly wrench out of someone who desires it... haha. But, in all honesty, with Celestion speakers and TAD valves, it's about $500 worth right there + new caps and a...

What's my Jansen worth?
Hi all, Got a mate who borrowed my amp a few years back and now he wants to buy it... actually, he's always wanted to buy it, but I've held out on him for ages. It's a Jansen 6-45. I've never seen another one anywhere, so I'm kinda thinking they're rare... but I dunno... there might be a few floatin...

or possibly even just a small mixer with an auxiliary output. Plug the gt6 into one mixer input, plug the computer's output into another mixer input and feed them both to the main mix - plug your headphones into the mixer and you can hear them both. Now plug the aux output into the computer input an...

Re: Best Mixer for my powered Mackies Acoustic/Vocals?
Had an "oh crap, it's not working! :-( " moment when I was hearing a a heavy "flange" like effect over everything, but then smacked my dumbarse head when I realised it was just my ears playing tricks on me as I was pacing in front of the speakers - D'OH! . Even so, sounds...

Re: Jansen 6/12 with trem and reverb
That is very cool. Interestingly I've got an old Conchord (made in auckland late 50s early 60s I've been told) that is very similar in its architecture... 12" Rola, 2 EL84s, an ECC82 Driver tube and ECC83 Preamp tubes, EZ80 Rectifier tube and tremolo, but no reverb. How does the rola sound on t...
