Re: Show us your pedalboard

How’s it compare to that current popular RAT based pedal the 1981 DRV? I haven’t had the pleasure of playing one yet, but the DRV is sort like if you put a buffer in front of the rat, simplified the RC network off the first gain stage to just have one, swapped the JFET output to an Opamp, and then ...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Mudhoney is a Rat with 3 parts changed that make it sound very much not like a Rat. If you put the boost on, that’s almost exactly the Rat circuit. Boost off it’s closer to Tubscreamer. It’s also buffered. The reason why you’d say it’s a rat is that it uses a single Opamp with a dual rc network, har...

Re: Did a dumb thing...guidance and advice please....

Sometimes it pays off - I got a “broken” Skreddy Screwdriver for $80…it literally just needed a knob screwed back on.

Sometimes it doesn’t and people have poured water through the whole thing so don’t beat yourself up.

What's actually wrong with it?

Re: Anyone like bass guitars?

Spector basses, anyone had any experience? kinda digging the look of this: https://intl.ishibashi.co.jp/products/06-2800001697050 They are the OG Warwick I like them but I’m a guy that likes Warwicks. Re: Kala U Bass

I’m working offshore these days and though, when we were along-side in Geelong, I managed to get a cheap acoustic guitar aboard, normally extra luggage is not allowed for helicopter crew transfers. I play bass nowadays and am really missing having a bass instrument offshore. I have spoken to logist...

Re: AC30cc2 & C2, also AC15C1: my mods

Right, just had a bit more of a tinker and I think I’ve cracked the ac15c1 code. Switching the tonestack to vintage gives you more interactive controls and a small bass boost. Switching the plate resistors from 100k to 220k changes the tone from being bright and a bit plinky (100k is more like a fen...

Re: Bass effects!

As an alternative layout: tuner -> cali76 -> QTron -> factotum -> bass fuzz -> BF-2B -> Alpha Omega I like to compress at the start to give the whole chain a consistent tone, drive into fuzz to give a “MOAR” stack -> modulation, then use Alpha Omega as an Amp Emulator. Another, probably better, chai...
