Re: BEST SMALL ACOUSTIC AMP?
What do you think of the Belcat KA25-RC for $299, or the Alesis Coolfire 15 for another $100?

BEST SMALL ACOUSTIC AMP?
I would appreciate suggestions for a good, small (~15W) amp for an acoustic Martin DM guitar. I want it mostly for practice purposes, but possibly also for small gigs in due course. Thank you.

Re: Beginner Acoustic Guitar - Advice?
Thanks for all your good advice. I have bought the Art & Luthier lefty Cedar Antique Burst guitar - the Rockshop in Christchurch gave me a $100 discount, selling it for $500.
Now all I have to do is learn to play it!

Re: Beginner Acoustic Guitar - Advice?
My search goes on ...
What are your views of the relative merits of a Cort Earth 100 (@ $399) vs. an Art & Lutherie Cedar Antique Burst (@ $599) (both are left-hand)?
The quitar is for an absolute beginner who wishes to entertain himself in the privacy of his own home.
Thank you.

Left or Right-Hand Guitar?
Thanks again, your answers were very helpful indeed.
Another question - I am left-handed. Should I get a left-hand guitar, or stick with the standard right-handed type?

Thank you all for your advice.
I think I have settled on a Cort Earth 70 from Lewis Eady, for $299 plus freight.

Re: Beginner Acoustic Guitar - Advice?
Thank you all for your advice. I do not want to play classical music, nor do I want to play an electric guitar. All I want to do is sit in the privacy of my home and enjoy myself playing contemporary music. I think a steel-stringed acoustic guitar makes the most sense, and I will spend around $300. ...

Can anyone offer me advice on a good beginner acoustic guitar? I am happy to spend ~NZ$300.
I understand that nylon strings are the best for soft-fingered learners - any comment?
Thank you.
