Re: Camera advice...
Another vote for going mirrorless. A few years ago when I got my first camera - I asked around a few friends who had Canon/Nikon setups. Most of them commented that they didn't often take them out, kinda because they were bulky. I've shot mirrorless for a few years, and I've got regular use out of m...

Re: Modtone Power Plant; AC -> DC converter?
Cheers Conway. I kinda forgot that 2 of them were 200mA. Toany - Cheers, but dang. Is that Pigtronix style of powering their pedals (9-18v - voltage just adds headroom) likely to apply to any other pedals? The flint takes less than 200 btw. I gave it a crack - and it works. What a find. Strymon clai...

Modtone Power Plant; AC -> DC converter?
As I recall, the AC output on the Modtone Power Plant can be rectified down to DC, with reasonable ampage. Anyone have detail on what the resulting voltage + available amps is? I'm drawing a bit of a blank with my Google-fu. I'm looking to power a POG2 + Flint (180 + 250mA requirements). Failing tha...

Re: Gibson custom silverburst
Years ago when reading up on Adam Jones of Tool, he mentioned that the silverbursts were a small release idea that later got cut, as Gibson thought the metallic paint somehow interfered with the sound. (So they were only around for a year or two?) Then Adam decided he'd like the guitar even more, in...

Re: Recommend me a condenser mike?
FYI- I have an old phantom-power box I could sell you. Two local places worth contacting: The guy at Oceania Audio (Nigel) is cool to deal with. I bought a Studio Projects B1 off him years ago, and over time he's always had a few brands in that were doing good low-price condensers. http://oceaniaaud...

Re: Which reverb pedal?
I happen to have a EHX Holy Grail Nano for sale ($125) at the moment, if that interests you. Great sounds, as long as you don't need a decay knob. The advice will vary if you're either just looking to fill the sound out a bit (classic), have it up noticeably (e.g.: surf), or go all ambient/post-rost...
