Re: Auckland / Northland Gearfest

Onepoto Domain Community Hall looks like another good option. Central location (a few hundred meters from the Harbour Bridge), heaps of parking, cheap and no immediate neighbours. No separate rooms for acoustic guitars +/- whatever a 'black mamba' is, but oh well. Still looking into the school hall...

Re: YouTube goodness

Imagine you are a tv channel boss in South Africa and you decide to programme a one hour roasting of a local comedian known only in SA. All the usual go-to local media personalities are booked on a shoestring budget. You have saved most of the budget for an international big name, and you choose Ji...

Re: Survey of what pedals people buy

Seems like most people are buying OD pedals by the survey. Do you think you still will in future even though the digital rigs are likely to be sufficient to cover most gigs? Digital rigs can do it all today, but I don't want one. . . . I end up with option paralysis though - too many options = too ...

I selected fuzz because that's the pedal that I'm kinda looking for - but am in no rush to get.

Re: String catching on 5'th fret inlay

I've had frets sprout depending on weather but never inlays. If you press it does it go back in a bit? It's not loose. I've tried pushing down on it but it still raised. I haven't applied a huge amount of pressure on it though. I'm somewhat perplexed though because the "stickiness" is har...

But that's probably because you don't like Gibsons! :P

I'm certainly not going to try fixing it myself. If it was an el cheapo then I wouldn't give it a second thought and try my hand at it.

String catching on 5'th fret inlay

Need advice. On Thursday I was noodling on my guitar. When doing 1/4 note bends on the B string at the 5'th fret it started catching on the inlay, just briefly, before slipping over. It felt like it was a bit sticky. I'm not sure if it was the string that was catching or if it was the tip of my fing...
