Never used one, but wouldn't it always be resting against the zero fret, regardless of the fret you're playing? Just like how the string is always sitting in the nut no?

Re: Your Dream Collection

Not really sure where it stands in terms of tone, has aspects of LP/335/archtop and also has a piezo (bridge switch and third knob) for some of that secret sauce. Re: Spent some time with a 65 Amps London Pro today

Thanks Ed, get to try anything else while you were there? Must be a few other goodies in that store.

Are there many amps that do a similar job but with fender+vox instead of vox+marshall? 65 or otherwise.

Re: HD500 Review

Yeah but nah, I was kinda meaning if he really wanted a good idea of the toan of the thing to do a balanced review it needs to go thru a power amp and be heard that way as well :) re the balanced review thing he pretty clearly stated that he only used headphones and to keep that in mind. Re: HD500 Review

We spend hundreds on mics, pedals, mixers, amps, guitars etc. etc. and then expect a headphone amplifier that's a relatively minor part of an overall pretty well priced product to be top of the line? The cost of that component is probably about $10. Audiophiles would spend just as much on the headph...

Re: Ben's Acoustic Corner

Hopefully they don't sound subpar like Breedloves (another Taylor offshoot)... Musicworks has some high end Breedloves but I was very disappointed in their Gibson-y sound. Yikes... Not a fan of those shapes. But if you do find them appealing, worth also checking out Breedlove Guitars (founded by ex...

Re: Slide in standard tuning

Haven't seen that Brett Garsed one, cheers. When I said behind the slide I meant pushing the string down so that it runs under the slide while the slide plays all the other strings. Eg. Em9 on the A string: x7577x, where the slide frets all the strings (except the D string) and the first finger play...

Re: Slide in standard tuning

I'm learning to play standard tuning but getting some chords in using Sonny Landreth behind the bar fretting. Pretty difficult but hopefully it'll take me somewhere.

Re: Buffered vs True Bypass Pedals

Sometimes you can have eq effects from pedals that you like as well. I've heard that some guitarists intentionally use a long spiral guitar cable because they like the sound it gives them. They only hard and fast rule is that if you use a long chain of only TB pedals then you will loose treble. What...
