Re: Building a Rangemaster; need a Germanium PNP tranny...

you can use many transistor types in there, the two you have can work and if they are what you have, then I'd build with them. especially if you are learning, don't practice on a rare germanium transistor without using sockets. that said, the circuit and instructions call for a pnp transistor. to us...

Re: Zonk Machine fuzz, trouble shooting help needed!

if you want 4 knobs then you probably have the right amount of space. I'd get some of the knobs you want to use and stick them on there before you commit. chickenheads need a lot of space if there are four. but could make a four knob one look pretty good with two knobs. i prefer the folded nose to t...

Re: Zonk Machine fuzz, trouble shooting help needed!

your enclosure prototype, looks to have a lot of space up top? pop some knobs on there and just look at how they sit, to me your design looks like a four knob one at present. Main consideration when bending your own is to leave space for a footswitch inside, and big enclosures are unpopular on pedal...

Re: Pedal Building Resources

Ponoko.com or emblems / trophy places to get plates made up, I saw a diy engraving station at the pet store for dog tags which would work also. Or buy some aluminium sheet and a set of punches. Some out there etch plates on copper clad (intended for pcbs) or I now hand draw with paint pens. Sharpie ...

Help Wanted 9mm pot

Anyone have a 9mm smooth shaft 100kb pot?

Have 16mm but it all wont fit in the space.

Don't need enough to warrant another tayda order, don't want to use Jaycar fragile ones.

Alternately anyone placing a tayda order?

thanks

b.

Expect a long wait from Australia, Was perfectly happy with their stuff, and they had a good combination of things, but it took so long to get here. longer than almost anywhere else I order from.

Re: NPD: Third Eye

Well done, it's a plunge I have always talked myself out of, looks great, I like the pcb additions, if i did it, id remove all of the parts overlay, and just leave random text and images on the silkscreen, after you have populated ten or more, you won't be needing the layout guide anyway. good luck....
