I am quite familiar with those Fender models, and other brands.
I have no Bench Fee and never have had one.
Now based in Paeroa and most parts are in stock.

Re: wanted: turret board/g10
I have used brown formica board to make turret boards. Got it from Dotmar NZ in Crookes Rd East Tamaki. It used to be common in Electrical Switchboards when everything was surface mounted.

Re: Calculating slotted port size in 2x12?
in a sealed Cab you can reduce the internal volume (with a partition, or fit another sealed box inside to take up space?) to reduce bass response. Bricks not a good idea Polystyrene Should work but I have not tried it. Smaller Cab (Sealed) gives back pressure to the cone, damping excursion. Strange,...

Re: Calculating slotted port size in 2x12?
Just thought I should mention The boundary effect. The placement of speakers or open back combo Amps when setting up a stage can drastically improve loudness. If a speaker is placed against a wall (pointing outwards of course), Theoretically you will get a 3dB increase in SPL. (twice as loud) Applie...

Re: Calculating slotted port size in 2x12?
http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/BOX-PORT-CALC.htm Thanks for the link, read it through twice, bit over my head though. Still unsure how I would calculate the port length if it’s cut out of the bottom of the cab? For a rectangular port the length remains the same. Take the diameter of round port and ca...

Re: Anvil Amps now in Paeroa
That sign is about 20 years old, Made it when I was doing Car Audio & Alarms for people who wanted to sit in the back seat of their car and watch over my shoulder, one old guy who thought it acceptable for his small dog trying to lick my face while I was working in the front on the stereo instal...

Anvil Amps now in Paeroa
Hi all,
Just a heads up for Valve Amp owners in the Waikato area.
I have moved away from all the traffic jams and set up my Repair Workshop in Paeroa.
Still setting up and things are a bit of a mess, but I have done a couple of repairs already.

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
You could try larger grid resistors on the EL84s too. Never heard of the cathode zener trick - interesting idea. Fender Bassbreaker 15 has Zeners which always go short circuit and cook the output bottles. I have removed them on 2 amps now. They C*#ts of amps to work on but you can clip the diode le...

Re: Rockit Super Lead 130 (Mk6) - Lead Channel
Because Anil opted to mount the components on the solder side any tech would find that section easy to read like a schematic. I knew Him back then. I would offer to help but I am presently moving to Paeroa. I am sure Clarry Schollum or Mark Maloney could sort it for you. The first thing I would repl...

Re: Eyelet board question
I prefer to use Turrets instead of Eyelets, Made a replacement board for a Fender Twin a while back, dimensions can be the same but made of 3mm turret material.
Re: Engl Amp?
Engl are almost impossible to repair because the stacked PCBs make them nightmarish.
I won't touch them and I don't think Clarry will either.
