Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

if you cut too much off your global you'll loose heaps from things like particle verbs and drives. my Global is set to 80hz low cut and 12khz high cut cabs however are as i mentioned above - so they respond how an actual cab mic'd would. it gives the effects, verbs and drives a chance to actually b...

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

I tend to do that in the global EQ, but that's because i was arbitrarily told to do it there

What benefit have you found doing it in the IR instead?

That's one way to read it (and actually the way i meant it), another might be that there are a lot of horrific rigs out in the wild

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

To your point, danny: I think there's a lot of discipline and/or self-awareness needed to know when/where to tweak (and where to stop). People should feel comfortable in the knowledge that the pre-tuned blocks sound pretty good right out of the gate, and can be stitched together like lego. I'd argue...

Yeah, i really hope he gets enough positive feedback to justify making videos for any other tips he's got. Seems very switched on.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

This really made me rethink my approach to the cabs. I've been pretty happy with the stock cabs overall but there's ever-present chatter about IRs that had me thinking i might be missing something. I haven't dived into 3rd party IRs yet because that opens a whole new multitude of variables and secon...

These are microUSB powered, correct?

Which is an oddball idea, but I like it. Can lead to charging my phone before a set for maxsnapchatz

Re: It's NZ Music Month :)

Is NZ music month still a thing? The only people I hear mention it are grass-roots local bands shouting into the social media void. I think the radio stations have largely dropped any actual involvement, with the exception of random prompted lipservice. Much like how radio stations have largely drop...

Re: Mac for basic garageband-ing

Yeah keen for a mac mini, imac just seems to have a better value/cost once you factor in the screen needed for a mini.

Good point RE the OS version. i'll do my research and find out what's capable of running the current OSX.
