Re: The Acoustic Thread

I've been bottom feeding on Trademe.. Paris Banchetti was an Italian born luthier who settled in Miami. He built a reputation for his Brazilian Rosewood classical guitars. (Muriel Anderson plays a Banchetti). He also made a few steel strings modeled on pre war Martins. This is one of them. Banchetti...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar

Beautiful guitars there Grant. I've always thought that every guitar player should have at least two 335 style guitars, that way there would be way more 335 style guitars in this world and they are magnificent beasts. I doubt I'll ever have the budget but my Eastman T486 has convinced me that a 335...

GrantB wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:45 pm Thanks to a nice chap I know I’m back to two ES-335’s.

Very different guitars.

Right is a Murphy Lab 64, and left is me ole ‘60.

The old guitar sounds like a Telecaster. Tight, bright and ready to rock.
Good to see the old girl again. She owes you her life.

You can probably see which parts are new and old.

It’s ready to be picked up, haven’t heard it roaring yet!
This Bill again? Can't wait to hear what you think.

Re: Old strings

I'm gonna say 1978 Model 2618. Another Ibanez man. I agree with the model designation but the year is 1977 :D Probably will sound wonderful on your full stack! Actually not an Ibanez fan at all. Barely paid any attention to them until this morning, thanks to this intriguing post! My first proper gu...

Re: What are you learning?

I'm still learning how much fun it can be to pretend I only have one guitar and one amp and just how much can be coaxed out of them. Though today a Strymon Deco snuck in and proved goodly so I suppose the rot has started. Having fun with 'Impossible Germany'. I've given up trying to be Nels and it s...

Did these have a line out?
At one point, I believe so.
Did they split the signal after the preamp section or something? Otherwise would have to have a passive load somewhere between the power section and line out, right?
You seem to have mistaken me for Mike or Marshmallow.
