Re: BASS: oh, cliche topic - what picks do you use!

Spent a few hrs on the bass this week, for the first time in many years. Fingers are pretty sore, but can’t bring myself to use a pick yet. Reckon the heavier ones I use on guitar will be fine though. Think they’re a .99 planet waves pick - the blue one

Re: Talk to me about wireless..

I’ve got the boss one, with the receiver/charger in pedal format. WL50 I think.

Works great, range is further than you’ll need, never had a battery problem, plenty of 4+ hr gigs / practice sessions.

A few people have commented on it size and knockability, but has never been an issue for me.

Re: Help me stop my GAS

When then cupboards full of guitars and you can’t squeeze in another amp, at least there’s always room for another pedal. Got to satisfy the gas somehow.

Re: Jazz Bass Wanted

Keep an eye for an MIJ Jazz too. My Jazz is MIJ, it’s the most comfortable neck I have played. Think the body is basswood and it’s reasonably light. Used at every gig I’ve played bass at since I got it in 95, never given me back or shoulder pain like my LP does. I put a new bridge and pickups in it,...

Fill a stadium with a 50-watt bass amp?
Given most venues/stadiums are filled by the PA it’s a disingenuous statement really.

50w seems light for stage sound at any venue though.

JCM800 hybrid amp! That’s great marketing. Imagine if Marshall had gone with that instead of Valvestate?! yeah, I think every Prius should come with a hybrid amp preinstalled too, then you could keep a guitar in the car for traffic jams! Ba dum tisssh! Dad Joke thread wants it’s post back

Re: Pearl Jam - Twenty

Good choices. They do require a bit of intellectualising, but agree with your summary. I dig Matt Cameron's writing - The Fixer is largely his. Great "pop" song but with that weird timing, so good. Been listening to Backspacer a bit lately. Just Breathe was in the Clerks 3 soundtrack, so ...

Re: On the Hunt for a Stool

FWIW I keep my pedal board very minimal because I don’t have the coordination to do more then a boost on/off mid song, and I don’t have a hole in my head as an excuse.

Yeah, I like the idea of just taking it into any room in the house (or out on the deck) and jamming away. Can’t do that with an interface.
Boss Waza headphones are great for this. No cables, backing tracks from your phone, can practice anywhere.

Re: Anyone like bass guitars?

And some personal preference dressed up as advice. Finger pick, have your gain up higher than you need and play with a light touch saves your fingers and gives you some dynamics to work with. If your amp has some grit to it, means you can get some grind when you dig in, and clean up when you play li...
