Re: The Lap Steel thread!
BTW, I find that using a swell pedal adds mood to a steel (or, more accurately, my right hand attack is not consistent enough and the swell pedal smooths out my fluctuations). Lots of deep tremolo is cool too. Daniel Lanois is a keen pedal steel player with great effect, but he's better known as the...

Re: The Lap Steel thread!
F@#$ing hell, actually came out playable and decent sounding! Definitely going to build one of these for real. Might even learn how to play it! Volume pedal and assload of reverb courtesy of the HD500 sb lap steel.mp3 This is probably as complete as the experimental model is going to get. wolfenpin...

OK. So. Speaking of Shitty Little Speakers.
This is my debut. A protest against the listening habits of too many Kiwis.

Look, most people listen to music (but not us...) on Shitty Little Speakers.
This has great energy and power.
Well done.

Re: Angled or flat?
I'm indifferent, it depends on feel and sound on the day.
Although I am a bit apprehensive about putting my SG on a guitar stand where it can get knocked over, and I never carry it in a gig bag (unlike my indestructible strat or tele). I'm acutely aware of the fragile neck on my Gibson.

Re: Attenuator differences?
I've had a few attenuators, a Weber MiniMass and a Weber Mass Light (I think that's what it was called, it had settings for mid and upper freqs) and a THD. Used them on /13 ftr37, fender blues jr, and others. Sold them I'm afraid, to my ear they stole the highs, crispness and presence. Yes you get g...

Price?[/quote]
$750. I think. Given the Kiwi Peso has risen 25% in the year, it could be a lot less.

I got it off TradeMe, user WTBF. Email juststuff@xtra.co.nz. Apparently they have distribution rights for brand new Traynor gear.BG wrote:Awesome! Who deals traynor?electric68 wrote:Dark Horse. Would look great in a 1950's SciFi remake.

Re: Your rig 5 years ago vs today
5yrs ago = diddly squat now = PA ...and how the f*** does one go about affording so many amps over the years as many on here do!? And more importantly, why? (as in, why change the sound if you've got something that works for you?) Sold the children for medical experiments. Do you think that was ok,...
