Maybe the king had a lower rolloff in the output transformer, more iron to carry the current in lows, and I've always found 6L6's to be good for bass and current. It could also be the coupling caps and bypass caps and resistors in the preamp as well giving the king more bass pass but suffice to say you...

Umm,why can't I post a soundfile.A message comes up that I have passed a max of some type.Does that mean I'd have to edit out any photos I've uploaded to be able to post a soundfile or is it a general thing and you just haven't got any room left?

Those squary cases I'm using for these are from Jaycars in Khyber Pass in Auckland and the little one is about 11.00.Theres a slightly bigger one for about 14.00 I wouldn't want to drill holes without having the stuff you want to put in there because....well,simply because. So you send or bring over ...

Its kinda funny this thing,You try the amp straight ,with full volume on the guitar, and then you plug in the pedal with the guitar volume right down and bring it up slowly and at about 1/6 rotation your back at where you started from without the pedal. From 1/6th to 1/3rd is clean boost and just gets...

Yeah!,great Rog!,even some places I haven't been. One thing I was going to get around to is the need to have floating outputs which means transformers on the outputs so you don't run into hum from the earths of each amp being at different potentials.Buffers are useful especially with some volume opti...

I've only wound one oickup in my life and I used neodenium magnets but I've got alnico magnets on most of my guitars that I like and have lots of old ceramic pickups lying around that have been stripped of the ceramic and are awaiting either neodenium or alnico.Ceramic to me seems gated whereby its ...

Hey,I just wanted to open up the idea that its actually a pretty straight forward thing to do electronically and can be done the same way most switching is done in amps. The switches pop because the contacts aren't contacting for a split second and in that short amount of time any caps in the signal ...

Hey Yoda, why not get a volume pedal and replace the single pot with a dual one and wire them opposite so when ones up the others down.If you get a 1Meg dual with a linear taper you can tailor the taper with resistors accross the legs,to get a mix going on but if you just wanna go from one to the oth...

No offence taken Mr Stark,Looper the next build actually, tomorrow and its an 8 bit offense to hi fidelity,or did you mean a parallel fx loop type mixer thingy. That really is a tiny box and the thing is basically an offboard...onboard preamp and I don't think you'd ever see anyone with an onboard pre...

This is what I got made. Owing to defects in the cases and knobs that require too much handwork to make viable to sell them as knobs or cases I'm going to make them into pedals and sell them. The top middle one will be a distortion box,TS9 clone thingy, and the one right of that will be a single input...
