Re: Optical Compressors, whats the go?
Someone has mentioned it already but the Pigtronix Philosophers Tone is awesome. I play a a Tele into a Vox with med overdrive. The compressor is great as if i'm picking, strumming or doing lead I get a similar response and chords even out. Before hand the low notes were a bit over powering. It is a...

Re: Help - New Tubes for Vox Night Train 50 Head
Cheers. I always get 34s and 84s mixed up. Have thought of a different amp but I really enjoy the clean side. I use pedals for all my gain purposes at the mo, but just feels like a waste not using the second channel. If I replace the tubes, what brand would you recommend?

Re: How do you boost volume on a NMV amp for solos?
This is why so many dude still use a Tubescreamer, it cuts some low end, boosts some 2K, and gives you a bit more 'cut'. +1 to this. I have a Clone of a Fulltone RTO (which in a sense is a refined tubescreamer from what I can tell), and often use this to boost for solos. At first I didn't think it ...

Help - New Tubes for Vox Night Train 50 Head
Hey all After some advice. The other guitarist in my band is away in Japan for a couple weeks so am going to use the time to get all my gear sorted, starting with retubing my amp (for the first time). Is a stock Vox Night Train 50 Watt head. This has 2EL 84s and 4 12ax7s. Have had the amp for about ...

Re: Really keen on opinions
Sounds good. Really like the first track, and as a demo i think it is sort of exactly what you want. A demo should leave room for improvement. I'd agree about the snare, something about it, maybe is to do with how it was tuned or recorded. But the songs are wicked and it doesn't take away from that.

Re: Orange squeeze STYLE booster?
You could always do as Brian May does with his treble boost and have it attached to your guitar strap. I'm looking at doing a similar thing, built a small circuit for a boost pedal a couple weeks ago as practice (Was a kit from Build Your Own Clone). Now that I have built it I need to find use and l...

Soundcloud of ideas I come up with. At least a couple have made the cut towards my band. One day I will put the rest towards a solo project (need to learn to sing first)

Re: 20 best amps available today
List like this are not cool. I'm now busy checking my bank account and working out how long I can go living off 2 minute noodles.
Those Orange Amps do look aweseom. Can someone compare the AD30 to the Vox AC 30 (if you have played both?) in terms of sound difference
