Re: Show Us Your Guitar

I won't be buying anything at all for a while though! Know what you mean. Everytime I see my wife with a bundle of papers (usually after one of my GAS attacks), I can't help wondering, "divorce papers?" My dear wife insists food, petrol and heating are more important at the moment.

Re: Show Us Your Guitar

My only complaint is I really wish a case had been an option with it. I figure I'm going to have to order a couple parlor sized cases in. Probably from Elderly Instruments in the U.S. My dealer sold me a CNB brand hard case (AUD$95-00 so all up AUD$494-00 - the dreadnought is also AUD$399 - there m...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar

Art and Lutherie make really good guitars at super cheap prices. I really can't understand how they do it given just the price of the materials. They're manufactured in Quebec, Canada. Godin acoustics get consistently good reviews. I think you got the nicest colour. ;) I love the colour: I think th...

Art and Lutherie Ami with laminated b/s (maple cherry three ply) and cedar top, 2006. :D Went to my local guitar shop to buy some picks last week and came back with an Art & Lutherie Folk Cedar and absolutely love it. http://www.artandlutherieguitars.com/folkcedarantiqueburst.html First time I'...

Re: Sydney Guitar shops?

Like I said they are more SHM than new. When I was in there they had a great selection of 1980s basses. :P Sorry, I wasn't trying to contradict you on the 'oldies'. The Ultra I mentioned above has only been available in Australia for a year or two (I bought one new last October) and the SH price st...

Re: Sydney Guitar shops?

This is by far the best guitar shop I have ever been in. http://www.guitarcrazy.com.au/home.htm The usual advice though: check and know your prices. They have a used "Epiphone Ultra - Cherry Sunbust As new. $995": http://www.guitarcrazy.com.au/EpiUltra.htm They can be bought new for $799:...

Another interesting V Jnr site with other interesting links at the bottom of the front page: http://www.valvejunior.com/ The main complaint with these amps that I keep coming across is the annoying hum from them. Most of the sites I've found have various tech solutions for fixing this but they're n...

Thanks, Guitartech.

Yes, I think I read that here or somewhere else - the Epi v2 has two stripes on the nameplate instead of one , I believe.

One of the many deciding factors in my purchase! The shop has four of each model in stock so I'll enjoy trying each of them out first. Nice way to spend a Monday.
