I’m pretty sure that R9 you’re looking at is my old guitar. It’s got a great sounding neck pickup but the neck was a bit chunky for me so sold it and got a 2014 version with a smaller neck.

This is my 2014 R9. Plan was to due a pickup change but after playing it I really like it as is so its going to stay completely stock.
Sold this a few years ago but this 08 R9 was my first Gibson Custom Shop. It was good but no where near as good as my current R9.

Exciting stuff! I need to hear a friedman in real life! I tried the rock shop's dirty shirley, it was amazing and I spent the next hour trying to get the same tones from my jtm45 but the Marshall just didn't have clarity. I tried the pink taco as well but wasn't that impressed with it, not sure why...

If you glue and wrap like Gibson does it shouldn't damage the finish, as long as you use a soft material to do the wrapping.
