Re: Directory listing for guitar repairs, services etc.
I think that it would be worthwhile to add amp repairs to our Directory listings.
If you all agree then send me the listing to add.

Re: Cable recommendations
My Planet waves are still going after about 15 years. They are used regularly at church. I always keep them coiled & don't do anything special to look after them.

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?
Reviving an old thread with a new question. I gave my Gallien Kruger bass amp to my son in Auckland, and it’s developed a fault. Who would you guys recommend for taking something like that to? He’s in Three Kings/Mt Roskill. Thanks Maybe email these guys as they're the importer in NZ: https://music...

This is pretty exciting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VtVT93r1sI A lot of interesting devices come out but I can't help feeling that the manufacturers are just trying to reinvent the wheel. I've had my Korg Pandora Stomp for years and they are a totally underrated unit, it's great as a tuner &a...

There is this bad boy close by https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/building-renovation/tools/power-tools/drills-screwdrivers/listing/4462328575 Can't see the brand on this one. If it were an old Tanner or Dyco it might be worth restoring. Observations: Shaft corroded, needs work to make the tab...

Re: Pedals Of Epicness
That guy from the Kinks (Ray Davies I think) had the best idea for distortion - slash the speakers - no batteries or goop required! And no tone suck.

Don't know about you guys, but I saved a fortune with these Black Friday sales!
I stayed away from the shops & didn't spend anything.

Re: What's on your work bench?
I really enjoyed using my Stanley No.5 though, purchased from op-shop for $30 and brought back to life. Shavings are a testament to its sharpness. I need a few more to complete the set, got a No.4 which is equally awesome :) I made this about 40 years ago ( Probably before you were born). IMG202309...

Re: The Who Derby UK
That's so awesome! That looks like a very tall blonde fender. Was it a twin or a vibroking you think? The three knobs to the left make me thing vibroking or SR rather than twin. Don't worry. It's no different here, after the past couple of years I can't imagine attempting anything without the immin...
