Black Keys - Chulahoma
Have just ordered this CD from Amazon after listening to iTunes samples, Jesus it sounds great. Have to listen to at least one track (down'd a couple of tracks from eyetunes) per day or I just don't feel good. Tone is unreal.

Re: Bigbsy and Vibramate
Thanks people, I would be checking the bridge pretty carefully as it seems to me that dragging the strings back and forth is going to cause some wear on strings and saddles. Cant be arsed with a roller bridge really.

Does anyone have first hand experience with these? The concept looks great, can pick up on Ebay for around $200 for both units. Looking at a B5 for an SG perhaps

Re: Seymour's Dog Ear
I just had a Phat Cat installed in a cheap Epi LP Junior ( the boys trademe find) and with new pots and cap its ferking amazing, alnico 2 sounds very good indeed, antiquity dog ear looks good for my boys Gibson LP Junior now. This thread has pretty much made up my mind I think, any issues fitting th...

Re: Humbucker-sized p90s: pros, cons, best ones?
boom, the socks are gone, dont know where they went but they were on fire at the time, the guy that installed it plugged it into a Fender De Ville 60 and my ears were both looking for a cigarette afterwards. Pretty impressed for a $125 guitar, plus of course the $110 for the pickup and, cost of fitt...

Bridge Phat Cat is on the way, just have to decide on pots and caps now, 500k volume and 250 or 300k tone and 0.022 orange drop or vit Q me thinks.

Re: Humbucker-sized p90s: pros, cons, best ones?
Well, I went the Phat Cat route, surprisingly, and I'm so glad I did! As Ash said, it's not a p-90 exact tone, but that seems pretty hard to get in humbucker spacing. It's got a lot of punch in the upper mids as opposed to the p-90 lower mids. The downside of this is that it doesn't quite get theex...

custom pick guards
Greetings, I am trying to shop around for a tortoise shell pickguard and have found a couple of options but apparently the material itself is quite expensive, something to do with Tortoise's being hard to peel or something?? Anyways I am looking for a P/G for an Epiphone LP junior (only paid a small...

Re: Seymour's Dog Ear
The first P90's were noisy as hell but sounded great...almost Telecaster like. Low output. This soudns like it might be more '56 onwards style - and yes, they are Rock n Roll carnage in a pickup. My Special has fire spitting angry P90's which I really love the sound of. I have a Dog ear Duncan Anti...

Re: Seymour's Dog Ear
Thanks and sorry if I asked that already (may have done earlier), I bought a JB and Jazz from MacDaddy last year and they were pretty good to deal with. Its great to have the Ebay filter that gives you lowest cost including shipping. I see you can have NZ post provide a U.S. shipping address and the...
