Naaa.... I'll take credit for it :D

Was just showing what was underneath the white. There were three finishes to remove.

That paint job preceded my ownership but I still think I'd have removed it even if the previous owner hadn't.

Re: Painted my Custom Shop '65 RI

Shame to cover over that really nice grain. A translucent finish would've been nice. Someone else said that but I've three translucent Strats and I thought it'd take a lot more skill than I have to make it look half as good as the others do. Just tagged on a couple of finished pics to the original ...

Re: Painted my Custom Shop '65 RI

Looks like a nice job, and very smooth considering what you say about the aerosols producing orange peel. I like the white, but I think I can see what you mean about it being too vivid and plastic-y from the picture. Olympic white would've been a better choice there. Thought about Olympic white act...

Re: Painted my Custom Shop '65 RI

Cheers. Yes. That's how it looked before. Not to my taste to be honest (not that that matters as it was white when I got it). I masked off any RELIC stamps or other CS markings inc. the 65NOS in the neck pickup hole. Not all were visible until I stripped it. In fact, I masked-off all cavities save f...

Painted my Custom Shop '65 RI

Bought a Custom Shop '65 that'd been refinished a few times. Was originally Lake Placid Blue but was given a custom finish (first pic) then a diamond white job. Anyway, I didn't like the diamond white as it was too vivid and the paint had a plastic feel to it. With the aid of the chaps on here I sou...

EWWWW not hotel California again. Good Idea Chris, Will bring my 3 B.C's Didn't realise we would actually be required to PLAY our guitars. I'm much more interested in buying and talking about them.... Don't worry, you don't have to. I'm in the same boat as you. I go there to look at other guitars a...

1963/4 Gibson SG Custom Ebony Block Tone King Metropolitan & Majesty Masrahll 2x12 Vertical I have just such a 2x12. I'm looking for a 4x12 angled Marshall (not the awkwardly tall Mode 4 or overly shiny non-UK one). If I get one the 2x12 will be redundant. One of these? 2 x12 2061CX? http://www...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Neunaber stereo WET reverb pedal. You will NOT regret it!!! Actually I want a reverb on a swivel like a wah or vol pedal. Would like to set different reverbs at either end of the pivot and a blend inbetween. Anything like that out there? Sounds interesting! As you probably know the wet has expressi...
