Re: New Firebird Day
This came up cheap locally. 2011. Mint. Firebird definitely have their own thing. Really like it. If recent inactivity is anything to go by it won't get the attention it deserves. Hopefully that'll change. Bird 1.jpg So when did you say you were coming back to NZ? About fourteen months' time.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
What’s it like Molly, any good without the valves? I have an Analogman Prince of Tone on the way, hoping it’ll pair well with the LP I need to do a firmware update before judging. The overdriven tones suck but it takes pedals well. Two channels I guess means an a/b pedal and two overdrives. I was t...

Acquired a Fender Tone Master Super Reverb as part of a convoluted deal last night. Certainly looks the part. Jensen 4x10 and jolly light. Anybody tried one? Thoughts?

Re: Gear Quests!
I don't have anything exciting to add but used to think nothing of chucking a sickie to do a 600k round-trip to secure the next whim purchase. Always frustrated me that other blokes couldn't be arsed to drive the 90k from Christchurch to Methven. Half-arsed baaastards.

That burst is lovely. Congratulations Bg. Now do what I do. Hang it on the wall and never play it.

Re: Late 70s Strats - thoughs?
I have a couple. Aesthetically they're both nicely aged with a lovely amber on the natural finish 79 and yellow, faded white on the 72. I can't argue with most of the preceding criticisms, but have come to recognize that all guitars have their own thing. If you like it the flaws don't matter. And t...

Re: Philip Sayce joined PRS!
I like his playing. Obviously grounded in Hendrix and SRV. That said, I have lately come to feel like I've been listening to the same solo for forty years.
