Re: Mainstage 3
I am pretty sure you can. I have Logic Pro, but most of the time I use mainstage to run everything for "silent" practice time. As far as I am aware they are independent and I certainly don't have to have both open at the same time.

Re: Help With Learning VST Host
I use one of these: https://touch.trademe.co.nz/listing/view/926200993 Plenty of options out there. Pop into your local rockshop and have a chat too. I think people like the focus rite stuff also? But definitely a quality interface helps, never heard of guitar face so can't really comment. http://ww...

Re: Help With Learning VST Host
Yeah S-Gear is pretty straight, having tried them all I definitely prefer it for tone and feel. for $129US you can cop a lot of amazing amps. Unlike the others, it doesn't feature much in the way of effects. But the reverb, delay, chorus it does have are great! When I need to play quietly with headp...

Re: Finishing cost?
I spent my teen years working in the polish shop at Dad's furniture factory, if an unco like me can spray, anyone can. Keen to do a guitar or two myself at some point. How much for a can of nitro at Wairau? I think I would start with the intention of having a relic. A) to create a divisive debate on...

It would definitely help to know what "free modules" you are using, so we can tell whether they are suitable for what you are looking for. Along with knowing how you are connecting to your PC, so we can make sure you've got an appropriate interface. I can't comment on the free ampsims, but...

Dunno? Haven't seen it on the rockshop site, though they have the slash fuzz which is similar. There is a rockshop guy on here right? Might be worth asking if they're bringing them in.

Yeah, I have, it's the sub-octave that really does it for me though. The sub machine does up and down!

Re: Show us your pedalboard
WOW! That's bloody awesome. If it had an octave switch... you wouldn't need anything else. I really like the WTF by Rocket effects, been looking at getting one for a while now but this thing is unbalancing my GAS. Yeah it really is killer, I spent a year gassing for the SST before I got hold of it,...

Re: Show us your pedalboard
That reminds me, I've updated my board too. Picked up a Supernatural and an Obscura delay, and after a trip to Melbourne to sort all my crap in storage, brought back my Polytune, SP, Badass '78, and Phase 90. Will get the order sorted then tidy up all the cabling and that's it, I am done! (Said in ...

Re: Relics: The Art of the Decomposer
Personally I like shiny brand new things, but then I like the idea of a guitar I can ding and not give a shit about it. That's about the only value a relic would have for me.

Fun event guys, bummed I had to run off early! Next time I'll try to be less intimidated by the quality of the gear and the players, and get stuck in a bit more. (And also bring I'll bring ear plugs!). Cheers Bg and co for organising the shindig!
