Re: Marshall amp - build, buy or what?

Which pedal are you getting by with? Here's an "or what?" I'm using a UAFX Lion through a PA monitor and getting some of the best sounds I've ever had. My vintage Marshall Super Bass is appreciating the rest, although it'll need to get fit again if I have any gigs sometime. In fact, where ...

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

Righto. So mid forward is a desirable characteristic for this test then? After this test I loaded the v30 in the tremolux cab, got my spring reverb tank and some my clean boost/dirt pedal. Ive had the jensen alnico in there for years and once the thing starts to get loud it looses itself in compres...

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

Just watching now. Clean highs: Greenback or Jensen alnico. Clean lows: D120 or Jensen alnico. Drive: D120 or Jensen alnico. Driven lead: Jensen alnico. To my taste at least, Alnico wins by a clear margin. Not the best in every test, but no worse than second in any of them. I liked its fuller bottom...

Re: Advice for speaker shoot out

I’d add that the actual playing response of a speaker is far more important. As touched on above, amp settings and levels get changed until we find a sound we like. I personally feel I “play” the amp/speaker combo as much as I play the guitar and pedals I use. Not saying don’t do the controlled test...

Re: The Bull Kelp Surfers July 5th Portland Public House

Slowy, fancy some company? Hell yeah Boss Man! Want me to pick you up? It will be the middle of winter.... For anyone in proximity on the day, this will be an Event. Come along. The music is great but the real entertainment is watching every beautiful woman in the room fall at Strummer's feet. :rof...

Re: The Bull Kelp Surfers July 5th Portland Public House

The first (only) time I seen you guys was at the Portland with Slowy. I had my first ever asthma attack! I don’t necessarily blame you guys or the venue. But I’m never going to watch your band again… without an inhaler handy. Slowy, fancy some company? Haha wow, reverb induced brinchospasm. Rare. I...

Clarry answered the door for me when I last picked up a repair from him a couple weeks ago. Looked the same as he always did. Seemed to be walking and talking and everything.

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Doing a pedalboard overhaul. Took the current vemurams from the large board and moved it to the small board. Reg's pedal will go to my main board. Butter machine and ods-1 will be added to the large board after I return mid May. Main board made by cleantones (super awesome dude). Made the top board...
