Re: Gear Quests!
I picked up a 1988 Marshall 1960 for $400 a couple of months ago. Pickup only (obviously) and in Tauranga (I'm in Auckland) so a 7 hour round trip and its doing it's thing here now. Bargains can be had. We live in a world where a 412 is cheaper than a 212 and a 100w amp is cheaper than a 15w amp. It...

I've just had one fall over. Jan '65 Jazzmaster. and for a great price. I'm sorry for your loss. I've been pretty philosophical about it. No point getting too down about it. Already eyeing up adding 3 guitars to fill the void. Small world. I used to live in Billings, MT.

Re: Live & Incubus
I was at last night's show at Trusts Arena. Good gig, but not great. Sound was a bit muddy. And the queue for beer, forget about it. Agree with most comments, except I really dug Mike's tone, talk about cutting thru the mix! We're those Mesa Cali Tweeds? Sounded good to my aging ears anyway. Incubu...

Re: Mr Glyn cool 90 demo
Great video! I think it shows the pickup well. I would agree chords are helpful when trying to actually get a gauge on how it sounds, everyone plucks the strings slightly differently but chords seem to even the playing field somewhat.although I’m a hypocrite and don’t always follow my own advise. C...

Re: Mr Glyn cool 90 demo
I'm curious how it sounds on chords, or with higher gain, or how the interaction with the volume and tone controls are. Through the 3 minutes the playing and sound doesn't really differ much to showcase more than the noodling side of things. Righto good feed back ! Not really a high gain guy so I w...

Re: What's on your work bench?
Unironically, Wayne Static had an immense guitar tone and that was all vs100 heads. Yeah man! Wayne had the tightest riffs too. The vs100 is almost identical or pretty close to the 8100 used by Chuck Schuldiner used in Death. Yeah I know, I just wanted to give Wayne some props after I was listening...

Re: What's on your work bench?
Wired up and plugged in for the very first time. I'm happy so here is a final happy picture. Fully enclosed and running a basic Celestion G12M-70, it pairs up with my Valvestate VS100 really well. I know that combo will crack people up but it's a 90's thrash/death metal thing I've been working on :...

I might be breaking protocol with more than one post. But my tumescence grows over what could be a one piece back. That means extra internet points.

Yes, but because I like having access to the claw screws to adjust the feel.
