Re: Custom Guitar - Paint Help

Its a personal preference thing. I do like Tru Oil personally, but I have had nitro necks that have been great. Re: Retro Pickups

Oooh. Just noticed a TV Jones neck PU on TradeMe.
Still.. I think I'd prefer something with a bit more output... a set of GFS Retrotron Series Memphis Alnico 2 are on the way to try. At that price ya can't go wrong..!

Re: Retro Pickups

Not any more. I moved on from my job that gave me access to a spray booth so have had to give up any projects that involve spraying or solvents. I still do a few projects on the side for 'fun', but these are either hand-finished or promo-type artwork with vinyl, etc.

Re: Got a space for a double bass? (akl-wel)

I have used John - A-H Freight 0800 434 654 to ship a couple of Double basses around the country. No guarantees, but he is a fragile freight mover (usually quality furniture, etc) and also he loads and unloads it himself, so you're not at the mercy of a random depot muscleman. Never had any issues, ...

Retro Pickups

Assistance please... I have a 335-style project on the go, creating a rockabilly player with a twangy vintage sound. What are some pickup options and where do I source in NZ? I have had GFS Retrotrons recommended, are these readily available in NZ? Sorry, not very gear savvy here, please be patient ...
